We were fortunate enough to have a local tour guide, the infamous Olivia Stingle taking us to all the non tourists spots, to the relief of Jash. First stop, Angerville. Not actually, I just saw that on our way to Bois de Vincennes - a park in the far east of Paris; the last stop on the 1 line. This is as non-touristy as it gets! There we discussed Almost Famous
- the directors cut in great detail. The movie was only slightly ruined when Jash mentioned that Stillwater
looks like a 90s alternative rock band. Now the more I look at their tapered jeans, I wonder what the costume department was thinking.
Back in central Paris to Marais for some zza from Pink Flamingo
, a tasty pizza place just down the block from La Perle, the spot where Galliano had his freak out
. Rather than eating in (even though one of their tables was in an old VW bus) we walked down to the Seine to gorge ourselves. After we were satiated, it was off to Pont Neuf
for wine out of the bottle, is there any other way? The soundtrack of the evening was undoubtedly the first line of Fever Dog by Stillwater
.... over and over again. "Fever dog, scratching at my back door" incredible.
