Sonic Boom, for the past two years, has marked my end of summer. (How is it September already?) This year was just as exceptional as the last - the 2013 lineup boasted pop punk favourites Blink-182 and Weezer #mindblown.
This year my highlights were definitely The New Pornographers, Descendents, The Smalls, Death Cab For Cutie, and Jack White, who concluded the weekend in the best way playing a mixture of White Stripes hits and tunes off his new album, Lazaretto. Pamela Des Barres was on point when she said he is one of the very few modern day Rock Gods around (read her interview with him HERE.) If you want an epic review of the lineup, Fish Griwkowsky eloquently captured it in his EJ article.
Seeing him live did not satiate my appetite for rock godliness, so post-concert I watched Coffee and Cigarettes for the very first time and it was genius.
The weather was rather accommodating the whole weekend and I mixed it up with both practical/impractical clothing. The chilly evenings did not lend themselves to wearing a bathing suit as a bodysuit, but I managed. Boyfriend jeans and oversized flannels were the answer, it's all about layers.
