It's no secret that thrifting is a hobby of mine... some may even say a deep passion. I'm not sure if it's because I appreciate classic design and quality or if I just love the idea of a garment having a history before it's met me, either way, the majority of my closet is vintage.
Goodwill Alberta challenged me to make an outfit for $25 and while I slightly failed (the pants were too good to pass up) I think that being able to cover the majority of myself for that amount is a testament to how affordable thrifting is. In the end, the pants were $18 and the sweater $7 paired with my favourite shoes of all time. When it comes to second hand clothes, I like to mix them with contemporary accessories so my outfit still feels current. But honestly, both pieces could be found in a number of stores currently and I dare you to try to find leather trousers for that price.
