Let me preface this post by saying that downtown Los Angeles has my heart.

On the second night in LA our AirBnB hosts took us out for a night to remember. We happened to be in town for the 7 year anniversary of Bringing Back Broadway, an initiative that's helping revitalize the downtown core as well as the Broadway strip. All the old theatres had their neon signs ablaze and the public was invited to tour the historical venues as well as watch classic silent films... for free. To say this was kismet would be an understatement; they must have known I was in town!

With the way wild nights go, we only made it inside the United Artists theatre which was a stunning example of Spanish Gothic style - the inside was creepy and elegant. Originally founded by Mary Pickford and Charlie Chaplin, the theatre and the building are now part of the Ace Hotel chain; I hear there's a rooftop bar which I most certainly will be checking out next time!

Blah blah blah. I love Los Angeles. Every trip a new surprise or quirky place to go presents itself... and I come running with open arms.
