It wasn't until recently that I began to up my blush game. It really pulls a look together, especially when you're working the no make up make up look. I find I gravitate more to peachy tones since they seem the most natural shade and light pink on occasion.
The two blushes that have been on heavy rotation lately are:
Such a cult classic! A darker peachy tone with just the right amount of shimmer (read: very little). I love how pigmented their blush is, a little goes a loooooong way.
This powder blush is a more neutral colour with a hint of peach. Like NARS, MAC also has a very pigmented blush, I never have to reapply throughout the day. (As all limited edition MAC items, this one sold out - definitely worth checking out on eBay)
I don't know what I did before this brush came into my life. It's the perfect size for cheek coverage. It's also the softest thing ever.
I haven't really got behind the whole "contouring" hype, I can't handle having that many layers on my face let alone factor in the time it takes to build said layers on my face into my day, it's just not practical. I do, however, subscribe to light highlighting under the arch of my brow and contouring in some cheekbone (but not too much). When I do take part in this artful trickery, my go-to's are:
Another sold out product but it's because it's sooooo good. And pretty! Look at that art deco pattern, who wouldn't want this on their vanity?
Perfect for subtle highlighting and contouring - it's a double whammy! It's a tad on the shimmery side so I usually reserve this one for the evenings.
The best part about the chubby stick is they travel well. They're handy, easy to use, and don't require a sharpener.
