Our stay in Calgary for Sled Island was made complete by Hotel Elan, a luxury boutique hotel just off the bustling 17th Ave. It was so centrally located we were able to park our car for the weekend and walk everywhere. In between shows, we would retreat to our suite complete with a kitchen, office, and living/dining room to work on coverage and catch up on emails. The pillowtop mattress was nice to come home to after putting on so many miles - not to mention the relaxing rain shower and L'Occitane bath products. Sigh. I would follow that up by watching the stressful Forensic Files series just to mix it up. The morning was my favourite part with the Globe & Mail waiting at our door and the most EPIC continental breakfast I have ever encountered. The hot buffet rotated a combination of crab cakes, scrambled eggs, omelettes, perogies, bacon, etc. The fruit spread, cured meats, and cheese were an everyday standard. I can't wait till I'm in Calgary next, It was incredible.
